Herschel Park Volunteers (Exhibition II)
The Herschel Park Volunteers created an exhibition around the objects that were found during the restoration of Herschel Park. These objects included many different styles of glass and ceramic bottles and a replica gun! As part of their research for the exhibition, the Community Curators visited Reading Museum’s archaeology collection and learnt more about researching archaeological finds during a workshop with Berkshire Archaeology. The group also part in a community dig with Museum of London staff at Syon Park, where they learnt techniques and processes that are used by archaeologists in the field! After learning all these new skills they were put into practice and an archaeological themed exhibition was created which is on display at the Bentley Education Centre in Herschel Park!
