Transformers Youth group (Exhibition I)
The Transformers Youth group have been exploring Slough Museum’s collection to create their own exhibition! Going to the cinema, ice skating, bowling and playing sports were things they most liked to do and they therefore decided to create an exhibition about the history of cinema and leisure in Slough!
To learn more about this history the group had a tour of the Adelphi cinema (now Gala Bingo) where they discovered how important cinemas were in Slough and how they’ve changed.
“Cinemas are different nowadays. The difference is that older cinemas were much more glamorous and more people could fit in one room. I prefer the old cinemas, they are much better than modern cinemas.”
The objects were chosen, displayed and interpreted by the young people and their first exhibition is now on display at Burnham Library!
